2 month check up

Today I took Cal for his 2 month check up. Here are his stats.....

Weight: 15 lb 3 oz (90%)
Length: 24 in (80%)
Head: 14 in (65%)

Cal still has a flat spot on the right side of his head, but the doctor said that he will grow out of it and we should keep moving his head to the left. He spits up a lot when he nurses, but we think it is just the nipple flow that is too fast. I think I just have to tough out him spitting up all over me. Besides that he is big and healthy!

Pumpkin Time

Our sweet little pumpkin. He didn't mind it at first but then got a little upset. It barely fit when I did the pictures (a week ago), so we will see if it fits on Halloween.

Bumbo

I think Cal is too little for this, but thought I'd try it out. He sat up pretty well. After a few minutes his head got tired though. He's just too cute... our little pudge.

2 Month Stats

weight: 14 lbs
length: 23 inches

We didn't take Cal for a 2 month check up... I know, I know.... that is when he needs his 2 month vaccinations. For now we have decided to not have Calvin vaccinated. After researching what the ingredients are and looking at the all the factors, we have decided to wait for now. The doctor said that's fine and we can always catch him up if we want them. FYI, it's not because we are afraid he is going to be autistic. That is a silly notion.
So we weighed and measured him at home. He was 15 lbs with a dirty diaper and clothes on... so I'm thinking he's really 14.

Jam-Jams

The State Fair

Calvin did great at the Fair!! He slept most of it, but was very happy walking around, playing with his cousin Kenzie, eating, watching the horses and all the people. Next year will be a lot of fun. We can do the petting zoo and kid games on the Midway.

2 Month Birthday

Calvin is 2 months old today! He is getting so big so fast. His nicknames are Big C, Big Cal, Pumpkin, and the latest is Pudge.

BIG Boy

Yesterday I went to pick up Cal from my mom-in-law (who is so wonderful by the way!), and she mentioned she fed him 5 oz. instead of 4 oz. for two of his feedings. She said that he seemed hungry after 4, so added another oz to see. Today she fed him 5 oz. for the three feedings he has with her, and he was a much happier baby. He was always a happy baby, but she said he slept better and was just happier. So now our big boy will be getting even bigger! I just love his facial expression in this pic.

Fun With Mommy

Cal loves to be read to and last night he was just so focused on our spider book. AND last night he slept for 7.5 hours!! I'm sure it was a fluke, but mommy loved catching up on sleep :)

First Haircut

Today Cal is 8 weeks old and we gave him his first hair cut. He has had this "rat tail" since he was born and we have just now cut it.

Rolled Over!!!

So the other day I saw Cal roll over two times and thought it was just a fluke. Today Cal just kept rolling over! Every time we put him on his tummy he rolled over!

Back to Work

So mommy had to go back to work this week :( I say it hasn't been rough, but once I am home and see how much time I've missed out with him, I get upset. Jared has been a big help this week. He takes Cal in the mornings and I pick him up. He has also been doing extra chores around the house so I can come home and just play with Cal. It seems like Cal is really growing up... the past week we have seen:
-Rolled over....Today Cal rolled over TWICE all by himself! I promise I didn't help at all! I tried to get it on video, but of course that didn't happen.
-Found his hands. He's been looking at them and then putting them in his mouth
-Smiling.... it seems to be more social smiling then "toot smiling", but can't be 100% considering he toots and poops all day long :)
-Coos... he's been a lot more vocal
-Looking... he's been concentrating a lot more on things
