Memorial Day

Memorial Day has been filled with all kinds of family fun! I start school tomorrow night, so I wanted a time to just spend with Jared & Cal. We went to the park this morning and then Cal got to watch Dad mow. Cal LOVES to watch people mow!!! He took an early 3 hour nap and then we shopped in the afternoon. Dad & Cal built a shelf together & grilled some chicken legs for Mom... thank you!!!

This afternoon we had some family fun with Cal's turtle sprinkler he got for Easter from Grammie and PopPop. He LOVED it!!! By the end of it he was in his diaper... too cute!

Zoo

We had an awesome family afternoon at the Fort Worth Zoo!!! Our adventured started out with a parking lot full of buses... Cal's new favorite obsession! His favorite animal was the bear. I think it's because it's the only one that wasn't taking a nap! We stayed there from 1:30 to 3:30, which was perfect because all the field trip groups were gone. Cal fed some birds, rode a carousel, a train and some ice cream! We will definitely be heading back to the zoo again, Cal loved it!

21 months old

Today Cal turns 21 months old! It was hopeless to get a good picture today.... but he is still cute as ever!!!

Play Hut

Cal got this for Christmas and we put it away for a little bit. It's amazing how it's like a brand new toy!!!

May Happenings

Jared and I are both done with finals.... praise God!!! I got A's in all my classes and Jared just finished on Wednesday. I feel like after being done for a week and a half I have wound down. I can now relax, play and read... of course I start back up in 2 weeks. I met my supervisor for this summer. I will be working at Grapevine Baylor Medical Hospital, in the outpatient clinic doing speech therapy with adults. I am excited yet anxious. It is an intense 8 weeks of work and classes. I'm already looking forward to June 30th... I will be more than half way through my degree and I'll have a few weeks in August of no school and no work.
As of now, we think Jared won't be going back to the school he's been teaching at. They want him to coach junior high and varsity football again. That was way too stressful on our little family. He is looking to find a job at the University of Dallas, which is where he is working on a masters of humanities. If he gets a job there he could get free tuition!!! We will wait and see what happens :)

My Boys

Every night Calvin has to have Dad read him this book. It's about Baby Bear getting ready for bed and Daddy Bear tucking him in. Baby Bear "hides" from his dad on his shoulders and they search the house for Baby Bear. Cal acts it out as Dad reads it to him.... so cute... and smart :)

Big Wheels

Cal's new bike! It was only $3 at a neighborhood garage sale. He is learning how to push the pedals... big boy!

Calvin's First Pet

We decided it was about time to get Cal his first pet. Cal picked out his very own fish! He loves dogs but that was just not going to happen. He loved looking at all the animals at Petsmart and picked out his own fish. We are trying to come up with a name for him. He says "fish" every time he sees him. We were thinking "arf" because he is so obsessed with dogs but now thinking of just Fishy.
