Halloween

Cal was Handy Manny this Halloween. I was so excited because he is actually into something this year, so I thought he would be excited to dress well. I was wrong. When we bought everything for his costume he wore it around the house for days. Of course today he didn't want to wear his boots, hat, or carry his tools. He wanted to take his "baba" (blanket) with him and Jared carried him most of the way. We've been practicing, so he was good at saying "tri-tree." So cute! By the time we got home he had a fever and definitely sick. Jared had a stomach bug Friday and Saturday... please pray Cal doesn't get it! So all in all, not the best Halloween... there is always next year :)

Eventful Day

I took today off because my in-laws were out of town. My wonderful Mother-in-law usually watches Cal when Jared goes to class, but today I was "forced" to take the day off. I've decided that I need to take more days off like this. Cal and I had so much fun! As many of you know, Cal is a Daddy's boy.... I'm not bitter or anything. :) Days like today are so nice because we get to have some Mommy & Cal time.
We started off the day getting adjusted at Dr. Rob's. Once we got home I pushed him to the park and we played for awhile. After that we made Halloween cookies! Cal had so much fun mixing the do, rolling it out, and cutting out pumpkins & stars. He even got to decorate them! He tried to ice them, but he liked putting on the sprinkles the most. Right before his nap he got a package delivered. My Aunt Beth gave him a Buzz Lightyear toy. He LOVES it! Of course we had to watch a little of Toy Story before his nap. After he got up we played and put on a fun Halloween tattoo. We shopped and played the rest of the afternoon. When Jared got home he decided Cal needed to count his money.... he has over $80!! I have no idea how he became so rich! All in all, it was a fabulous day!

Firearms

I am not the biggest fan of guns. Not for any reason in particular, but they kind of freak me out. Every year at the fair my Dad plays a game on the Midway that entails "shooting out" a star on a small piece of paper from far away. I did it one year and I didn't like the feeling. Flashing back to my childhood, I remember hanging out with my cousins, Mike and Philip, at Papa Jack and Nanny Kay's house. They were shooting a bb gun and they asked if I wanted a turn. Being the younger girly cousin that I was (am),I said yes. All I remember is that they didn't teach me how to hold it, so the kick-back jolted me and I cried. No fun!
Last Christmas Dan, Jared's cousin, gave Cal a toy gun. My first thought, "that's going in the closet." It did. It did until two weeks ago. Now Cal is running around with our ten year old neighbor shooting each other. What is a mother to do!? I guess I would be considered more of a city girl, but I just feel weird about Calvin shooting at me as we are playing around the house. I guess that's what I get for marrying a man from Grapevine, Texas, whose family is from Keller and Fort worth Texas - country folk.

Pumpkin Time

Cal and I headed to the local farmer's market to pick out some pumpkins. They had a bounce house and blow up slide. Cal had a blast! He picked out a medium orange pumpkin, a small orange one, and a small white one. He has carried them room to room this afternoon... too cute!

Fun Saturday

Cal's favorite ice cream shop, Choo Choo Creamery, had it's 1 year anniversary today. They had ice cream on sale, a train bounce house, face painting, and hair coloring. Cal had a blast! We left when he was got fussy and the last picture of him as we were leaving.... so sad.
