Teetee!!!!!!

Cal became interested in the potty when I told him his Cousin Kenzie was sitting on the potty and got big girl underwear. For the past month or so he has been sitting on it once or twice a day but never goes. Last night we had Gabba and Grandpa (Cindy and Russ) over for dinner. Cal wanted to show them that he could sit on the potty. All five of us were in our guest bath when suddenly he went teetee!!!! Cindy noticed and said, "He's going!!" We were all laughing and cheering. Cal was so proud. Then right before bed he wanted to sit on it again. He went again and when it was over he said, "It stopped!" We told Cal when he went teetee or poop on the potty for the first time he would get a new train, Hector. We have a three piece zoo set for when he is done with diapers and in big boy underwear.

Our boy is growing up!!!

This morning we had waffles to celebrate... yummy!

Ducks and Good News

Great news..... I passed all of my written comprehensive exams and my Praxis (exam I have to pass to get my state and national license)!! God is so good and he provided for our family abundantly!! I would say now I am in a "stress free zone" which feels great. I start up my last semester on June 6th. I am working at a nursing home in Bedford and will be taking 4 hours of course work. Only 8 weeks and I will REALLY be done. Jared also finished up his semester at UD. He is taking a research class this summer and will hopefully graduate May 2012. Then the PhD program applications will begin!!

Yesterday morning we went to the park to feed the ducks. Good family times :)

Baseball Tee

We decided that Cal needs to get ready for Fall Tee-Ball!! He can already hit and throw the ball. We are going to start working on running to first. The joy of a boy!

Painting With a Twist

My last supervisor for Graduate School decided we needed to go out and celebrate graduation. She supervised a student in Irving the first year of the program, so we all got together. Erica went through our program in Cycle 4 and also had Rhonda as a supervisor. We met up in Grapevine at Painting With a Twist... it was a BLAST!!! It was definitely stressful at times because I thought I was going to mess it up. But the thing is.... you can't mess it up! You can bring wine or other beverages and snacks. I am not an artistic person and mine turned out great and it was fun. I encourage everyone to check it out!!

Safari Park

Jared is finally done with school and this week is Daddy & Calvin fun! Today they went to an indoor safari park in Southlake. At first Cal was timid and didn't want to do much. The first time on the train he cried and they had to stop the train to get him off. After awhile he got use to the place and rode the train. All in all.. they had a blast!

Graduation Party

After the ceremony we had a small family BBQ at our place. The weather was perfect!

Graduation Ceremony

Saturday at 2:00 pm we drove up to Denton for my Graduation ceremony at Texas Woman's University. It was only 1 1/2 hours, which I thought was nice. My parents, Jared, Aunt Barb, Uncle Paul, Cal & Kenz had the "privilege" of sitting through it :) Thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported us through the past two years.... long road but worth it!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day seems like it has lasted all week :)
On Wednesday I accidental found my present as I was cleaning under our bed. Thursday morning Jared decided to go ahead and give me my present. Cal picked out a singing Mickey Mouse card... though he thinks it is his and marches around the house with it all the time. I also got a willow angel "Tenderness" and a massage during our weekend getaway in July. I've never has a massage so I'm a little nervous but it should be nice and relaxing.

Thursday morning was "Muffins with Mom" at Calvin's school. It was great because it gave me a chance to take an hour off of work and feel like one of the stay-at-home moms. He made me a beautiful flower pot and card. Thank you!

I told Jared that Saturday should be my mother's day because I have to share Sunday with everyone else ;) Jared had a final that morning so Cal and I went to the park for a breakfast play date. After that we had lunch, Cal napped, and I napped while watching a movie. Today, the real mother's day Cal woke up and threw up... poor guy! His temperature was 99.9 so we decided to stay home from church. Jared went to Gabba's house while I stayed home with Cal. He is finally feeling better now.
Happy Mother's Day to all!!
