Cal's First Soccer Game!

Cal joined a soccer team at the YMCA.... Go Raiders!!!  He has been having a good time at practice the past few weeks, but this was his first game. We were out of town for the first game of the season, and then last week's game was rained out.   Here is the team warming up.

Cal wasn't the most aggressive player out there and he only made it through the first half. BUT we are proud of him for getting out there and trying!

I have no idea who won! I think it was the other team, but they had fun!

Getting Ready for Easter

We have been getting ready for Easter this past week.....
Cal loved reading our Easter books and decorating the living room. The egg decor is from a Peter Rabbit book we have. We added a cross and scriptures about the Resurrection to remind Cal the true meaning of Easter.

Last but not least we dyed eggs!  I always did this with my Nanny Kay (my dad's mom). Let's see if the Easter bunny hides them in the morning :)

March Date: Denton Memories

Our March date was a combination of two choices: Relive our First Date (Mel's pick) and Dinner, Recycled Books, Beth Marie's Ice Cream (Jared's pick).  Our first date, May 12th-ish 2002 in Denton, included dinner a Bari's Italian Restaurant, putt-putt, and a long talk at South Lakes Park. Bari's and the putt-putt place are no longer in business... has it been that long!?  We decided to have dinner at the Green House which is one of two nice restaurants in Denton.  The other is Guiseppe's Italiana, which is where we had our rehearsal dinner.  Dinner was amazing and was followed by Jared's favorite bookstore: Recycled Books.  I know, I know... date number three of 2013 and it involves books again....... it's what we love!

After Recycled Books (which took an hour and 15 minutes), we headed to Beth Marie's Old Fashion Ice Cream on the Denton Square.  It was great walking around the square where we took our engagement pictures in the winter of 2002.

South Lakes Park was next on the agenda to find the picnic table where we talked for hours. Sad to say, the picnic table was gone. We reminisced about picnics and walks we enjoyed when we were friends, dating, and engaged in college.

Last but not least, we drove by our first apartment.

God is so good and has blessed us with an amazing marriage this past 10 years!

Adeline 10 months old

10 months old on May 16th... I can't believe it! Adeline loves to pull up and climb everything, babble and "talk" on her pretend phone, play cars with brother, walk with her walker, and tackle dad & brother!

 Sibling love!

Austin Adventures

We started out our "Spring Break Austin Adventure" at SXSW with the family... well, kind of.  A friend of my parents opened up a food trailer called Valentinas Tex Mex on 6th street. It was delicious!! We sat on the patio of Star Bar next door and ordered drinks.  Check out my sister's blog :) for  pictures!

Dawson wasn't a fan of singing!

We had a blast hanging out with my family for almost a week. Of course both kids got sick (sinus infections), but all in all a great trip! We enjoyed several Austin "hot spots:" Amy's Ice CreamBook People,  Opa!, and of course the Shaw Patio :)
