The other day Jared and I decided to get Cal a few toys at Target. For the price of $7 we bought two toys to entertain Cal for hours! A $2 big blue ball that is as big as Cal.
He got attached to it at Target and we couldn't resist
Another truck to play with. We put his infant-to-toddler rocker in Jared's study and Cal loves it. Cal's jam-jams have gotten a little small so we got him some new ones. They are real big and baggy but super cute! This video is a little wobbly but it's the best walking one I've gotten.

God is Good
We have been waiting out the summer in the job department for Jared. He is working part time this summer which is perfect for us right now, with my schooling, Cal, and his prepping for a PhD program. Today, Jared called yesterday with some good news. He says that there is a possibility that he will be back at Covenant working part time this next year. He would be teaching one 8th grade New Testament class, coaching varsity football and possibly heading up the varsity wrestling. We have to figure out the details but if this is what God has in store, it would be perfect! Today, TCC (Tarrant County College- south campus) emailed him and would like to interview to possibly teach a religion course in the Spring. :)
In the area of prepping for a PhD program, Jared has been busy this summer keeping up on his Greek and.... well, I can't tell you what else, because I have been too busy to pay attention really. Probably something with New Testament, as that is what he wants to specialize in. He needs three good recommendation letters to apply to a program. Right now he has one, Adrian Smith, his New Testament professor from Westminster. This year he is going to audit a class at Redeemer Seminary (which use to be his school, Westminster) to hopefully gain the recommendation of a new NT prof. Then, after that we would love for him to get a masters degree from University of Dallas in Humanities.
This probably sounds like a lot of schooling and ridiculous to some people, but Jared, Cal and I are so excited about all of the plans... though God could have a very different plan. :) Our family goals right now are to raise a Godly little boy, get me through school and prepare Jared for a PhD. This isn't most family's dreams, but it is ours. We know we won't have a house or more kids any time soon, and we have a peace about that. God always takes care of his children.... so I know he will take care of us :)

Uncle Jordan and Aunt Casey!
Jordan and Casey got married last night and are now on their way to Hawaii!! Cal now has a new Aunt :) My mom and dad game in town to help with the days of festivities which was wonderful. Somehow I didn't get any pictures of all the bridesmaids and parents and grandparents. Cal was a trooper! He was tired but didn't fuss at the wedding. He didn't leave with my parents until 9:30.... crazy! Here are a few pictures from the past few days.....
Jordan and Casey at the rehearsal dinner at La Hacienda Ranch... yummy fajitas!
Janna and I looking beautiful as ever.
Family pic... Cal isn't smiling but at least he wasn't crying.

4th of July Weekend Fun!
We had a great 4th of July weekend with Kristen, Dennis and Kenzie in town......
When Cal woke up from his nap, Kenzie was there to play! He was so excited!
Playing with Teddy and Kenz sitting in Cal's lap... it was so funny!
After every meal Kenz has to watch a little bit of Barney... Cal joined in on the fun
Kenz and Cal had fun playing with their flags Kris got them.
We went to the Chisolm Pool in Hurst Saturday morning. The kids had a blast!
We did a few fireworks that Dennis won at work.
Brush, brush, brush!!

These Days......
I can't believe that I haven't posted in almost a week! I was looking through pictures on my camera and no new ones since the last post!
What have we been up to...
Jared finished that class up on Tuesday and worked at Camp Grapevine yesterday. He is still deciding whether he wants to take the History content exam and move that direction or not. He applied at Tarrant County College to teach philosophy or bible there. It is a very slim chance he would get a job there without 18 hours of masters level philosophy... but it's worth a shot!
Cal is as cute as ever! He is soooo busy these days. He has been spending at least 5 hours a day at Gamma's house so I can get some good studying done... Thank You Cindy!! Today he spent the afternoon at Mammie and Pawpaw's house. They been gone for two weeks and Cal was so excited to see them! He is getting more teeth... a little one next to his big tooth on top and one next to his two bottom teeth. If that makes any since?? He hasn't been fussy about it, so that is great!
I have been a little overwhelmed with school stuff lately. Two more weeks until finals!! Jared's brother is also getting married on July 17th so that will keep our schedule packed the next week weeks. Over all I have loved school this summer... I am one of those dorks who gets excited about buying books and school supplies :) During August I plan to clean out Cal's closet, finish up Cal's baby scrapbook, and read whatever I want!
Tomorrow the my sister and her family are coming in town to hang out. There will be plenty of pictures on here soon. Also, my mom is sweet enough to come down to help out with Cal and the house next week.. Monday to Friday. I don't know what I would do with out Cal's wonderful Grandmothers!!??
