CCA Time

Jared coached/is coaching his first junior high and high school football game tonight. They lost the junior high game and they are just now starting the varsity game. Cal and I went up for a little bit to cheer him on! After the junior high game, Cal got to go on the field... we had a hard time getting him off it.

Big Helper

Daddy brought home a broken school desk today. Why, who knows. Cal was Daddy's big helper, but they didn't fix it. Hopefully Grandpa or PawPaw will come to the rescue :)

End of Summer

I'm am in my second week of work and for some reason it's not getting easier. I figured last year would've been harder since he was a newborn, but this year is. The only reason I can come up with, is that he is so much fun these days! When I went to work last year he wasn't this interactive and fun. It's like I don't want to miss anything. But I know he is having a blast with his Gamma and I'd rather him be sharing special moments with his Grandma than a stranger. Lets pray next week when I start grad school again I will be too busy to think about it!


Cal and I had fun this summer going to the library and playing.... more playing than reading.




Jared's grandparents, Mammie & PawPaw, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Cal and Liam had fun taking pictures :)

Saturday Adventures

Saturday was full of fun with Mom. It was the first Saturday Dad had to work :( 8 to 2 every Saturday until football season is over.

Went for an AM walk and Cal practiced his raking skills.





That evening Aunt Casey, Aunt Janna and Cousin Liam came over to play. It was so much fun!!

1 year check up

Today Cal had is 1 year check up. He is big and strong :)

Weight: 25 lb, 11 oz (85%)
Length: 30 3/4 in. (80%)
Head: 18 1/2 in. (75%)

1 year old!!

Our little baby boy isn't a baby any more! He is officially one year old!



Cal's favorite things to do these days:
-Walk all over the place-
-Talk: dada, dog, door, this, shoe, etc. (of course he says variations of these)
-Give hugs and kisses
-Drink his milk from a straw cup.. big boy!
-Play with his Gamma while Mom & Dad are at work
-Go to the park and play outside
-Read The Very Hungry Caterpillar
-Sit in his big chair and have a snack while he watches the first 10 minutes of Back Yardagains


It is hard to get a good shot of Cal just sitting or standing these days. Always on the move....

Shoe Size

I forgot to mention that Cal's shoes are size 5 1/2 XW!!!! Box feet for sure!

Walking Shoes

Our big boy is already walking around like crazy! Grammie and PopPop got him his first pair of walking shoes this weekend. We forgot the camera, but the girl helping us took a picture and printed it for us. So nice!

Cal's Bday Party!

Yesterday, we had a small, yet big, bday party for Cal. We had just immediate family and Great-grandparents... which filled out place to the brim! Cal LOVED getting to play with his cousins: Kenz and Liam. My sister is prego and expecting a little one in February... FUN! Cal got lots of presents and CAKE!!

Swim Class Graduation!

Friday we had our last day of swim lessons. Cal and Liam had a blast the past two weeks and learned how to:
-Blow bubbles.... kind of
-"Jump" off the diving board
-Scoop hands
-Kick legs
-Splash everyone
-Go down the slide with Mommy

A Summer Day with Mom & Cal

Today has been a fun and relaxing day, so I decided to blog about it. I didn't take pics of all our adventures, but oh well...

First, we went for a nice jog/walk and Cal played at the park. Then Cal took a 2 hour nap from 8:30 to 10:30... crazy. After a nice lunch of veggie dogs and fruit, we headed to a shopping strip to look around. This included Ross, Half Price Books and Pet Smart. Cal LOVED looking at all the animals. (I got that idea from my sis, Kenz loves dogs.) Once we got home we had a snack and watched Backyardagans... great kid show!

Then we tried on many shoes that all don't fit....

These are Dallas Cowboy Crocs that are too big, Jared saw them at the State Fair last year and just had to get them. In the back ground you will see some cute Pedipeds we got for Jordan and Casey's wedding. Two weeks later that were too small!


Aunt Janna is letting us borrow these.. but they are too small too! StrideRite size 5 WIDE!!!



After our hopeless shoe adventure, Cal proceeded to tear up the house. If you know me, you should know that I like things in order and everything has it's "place." I have let go of course, since I've had Cal, but today I let him really run wild.

Later on I found a vacuum attachment piece and a sock in the Tupperware cabinet... crazy kid!

He took another crazy 2 hour nap, then we headed to the Chiropractor. We got home about 5:30, had dinner and played. Dad got home at 6:30 and it was play time!
I had coffee with my friend, Christine, at a neat place called Roots.
And now it is time for bed. I start work on Monday and I will definitely miss fun days like today :)

Girls Weekend in Austin

This past weekend my sister, mom and I stayed at an awesome hotel on South Congress in Austin, San Jose Hotel. We had a very eventful weekend that included:
-Sleeping in
-Pizza, mexican food, margaritas, sea food, wine, coffee, candy, Amy's Ice Cream, etc.
-Run/walk on Town Lake with Mom
-Naps
-Reading
-Breakfast at Jo's
-Great fellowship with Mom and Sis









I got to see Kenz for a little bit on Friday... I miss her so much!!!
