Happy Halloween!!

Cal's Halloween weekend has been pretty adventurous! Friday night we met up with Cousin Liam, Aunt Janna, Uncle JT, Gamma and Grandpa at a church "Trunk-or-Treat." Cal had fun playing a bean bag game, fishing and "bouncing" next to the bounce houses.


Today Dad and Cal were playing in the living room while Mom was studying... suddenly a knock at the door.... King Calvin!!!!

Tonight Cal dressed up in his real Halloween costume: a cougar football player! (Dad coaches for the Covenant Cougers) We stopped by to see Dad in between games and ran in to Gamma and Grandpa... Cal was so excited!! He was running around and "playing" football with Grandpa. Everyone there said he was so cute... of course! Cal only said "tricker-treat" to his Gamma tonight and got some yummy fruit snacks. Thanks Gamma! Hopefully next year he will be ready to go door to door and Dad won't have a football game to coach :)


And finally.... Cal got a cute Charlie Brown Halloween card from Grammie & Pop-Pop that talked. Mom got one that had the "flying monkeys" tune... Cal loved it!! He
opened and closed that thing 100 times today... dancing away!

Lazy Sundays

Sunday afternoons at the Brown house watching football. Cal loves to jump on the cusions and wrestle with Daddy. Sweet moments to cherish.

Dirty Days

This may not seem like a big mess, but mommy loves things clean and tidy. Cal loves to play outside and always climbs into this "weed-bed" and sits and plays. It's a little hard for me to let go of the messiness.... but it's only the beginning :)

Here are some pics from the last few days. I bought this $5 costume at a resale shop.... I'm sooooo glad I didn't fork out the $20 to $30 because he HATED the part on his head. His real costume will have to be a surprise!! Today's high was only 56 degrees! I decided to get out his flannel monster jam-jams... but he was burning up. I did get some cute pictures though :)

Saturday morning, Dad drove out to Dallas to help his old prof move.... so it was another Mom & Cal Saturday morning. Before Dad left we went to a great taco place in Southlake, Austin Taco Company. They have awesome breakfast tacos!
Once Dad left we went home to play and Cal decided to make a little pallet. He pulled out the quilt and got all the pillows off the couch... too cute!

Uncle Jordan's Bday

Friday night the Brown family went out to celebrate Jordan's birthday. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and got some cute pictures.....












After dinner we headed back to Grandpa's and Gamma's for some pie and homemade ice cream. Cal got to try out a new toy Gamma bought. What a big kid!

UD

Good news.... Jared got accepted into the University of Dallas!!! He will be starting a masters of Humanities in the Spring. We are hoping he will be done in about 2 or 3 years, then we will both have our masters and we can start looking for PhD programs. Our dream would be Duke in North Caroline... we will see what God has in store! :)

Fair Day!

We went to the Fair on Saturday with the fam. It started out a little rough with the UT vs. OU crazy crowds, but over all it was a blast! The highlights included the dog show, merry-go-round ride, fishing game, driving a big truck, and hanging out at the Smith's afterwards. At the Smith's, Carter and Cal went up and down the slide forever! Cal also loved playing at the sand table.

Good Weekend

This weekend has been a great family weekend. Friday night dad had a football game and mom had lots of school work to do, so Mammie and PawPaw watched Cal for a few hours. Saturday morning Dad got up to go to work and Cal & Mom played. After Cal's lunch, Uncle Jordan and Aunt Casey came over. Uncle Jordan watched Cal while the girls went to study. Once Dad got home late afternoon, we cooked a great meal together and had some Tomney wine. We went shopping at Marshalls and Ross. Cal cleaned up with new jam-jams, his own trashcan, a few shirts and a train to play with. This weekend, Cal also enjoyed trying on Mom's beany and Dad's slippers. This morning Dad and Mom were reading at the table and Cal wanted to join us... he is such a big boy!!!

Tonight, Gamma is going to watch Cal for an hour so Mom and Dad can go out to eat on a date. Much needed in this busy busy time. I can't express how thankful we are for allllll the family help we get. God is good!

Looonnnnggg Week

This past Saturday night Jared and I went to his 10 year high school reunion. It was interesting... especially because it wasn't mine. Overall we were glad we went. We stayed at a B&B in down town Fort Worth, Etta's Place. It was so nice to sleep in (except I automatically got up at 7 and went for a run) and just hang out. Once we were on our way to get Cal we found out he had a 24 hour stomach bug at Gamma's house :( Poor Pumpkin!! Luckily we knew what it was because Aunt Janna, Uncle JT and Cousin Liam had it too. Jared and I thought we were in the clear, but I got a little bit of it Monday night and Jared got it really bad last night. Cal is almost back to normal and having fun carrying around his favorite toy.... the trash can!!!!

He is going to be a trash man when he grows up!!! Here are some random pics for the past week or so.
