Christmas Eve we had a "Christmas party" as Cal likes to call it with Cindy's side of the family. We ate delicious food, talked, and played a fun/goofy game!

It's a GIRL!!!
Jared and I made a bet.... he thought girl and I thought boy.... he was right once again!! We are so excited to meet our sweet baby girl around May 8th, Adeline Kay. She is named after my two grandmothers: Harriet Adeline and Mary Kathryn(Nanny Kay). Let the pink and purple begin!!!
Cal met Granny Ward (Harriet Adeline Ward, my mom's mom) in the Spring of 2009. She passed away July 4th 2010. My favorite memories of her are Christmas mornings. I would get up early and tried to peak through the doors to the den to see the presents. I would always stay with her in the summers for a week and She use to make me read....... which I hated! I am so glad she did, because now I love to read just like she did.
This is the last Thanksgiving Nanny Kay was with us. She passed away in April of 2006. My favorite memories are staying with her in the summer and taking art classes or making crafts at her house. For Thanksgiving we would always meet in Bolivar and stay in a beach cabin with my Aunt's family (Dad's sister). Such a great tradition Nanny Kay and Papa Jack started when I was little.

Turkey Day 2011
Cal finally celebrated a true Shaw Thanksgiving!!! The past three years we haven't been able to go to the beach due to the hurricane a few years a go. Ever since I can remember we always stayed at a beach cabin in Bolivar to see my Dad's sister's family and grandparents. Cal LOVED playing in the sand and causing trouble with the other 7 kids (all boys but Kenzie!). We started a Thankful Tree tradition. The kids came up with some great things to be thankful for: spending time with family, flowers, dinosaurs, God, mommy, daddy, etc. Next year we will have grand kid #9 and I think that will be it!
