Cal's Belated Christmas Program
Cal had his "Belated Christmas Program" last night. He did great!!! This is his third year attending a mom's day out program two times a week. The first year he did this program he was 2 and just stood there. Last year he sang very quietly, and finally this year he sang and did the actions. Cal has learned so much from his teachers and friends! He can write his name, identify sounds at the beginning of words, and can even spell "dad." We are so proud of our big boy!!!

January Date!
One of my new years resolutions was for Jared and I to have monthly dates. Pininterest gave me the idea from a post I found called "Can of Dates." I modified it for us.... Jared and I both wrote down 6 date ideas. I put them in our champagne glasses from our wedding (which we never use) and the first of every month we draw one. I hope this will be a great way for us to spend quality time together and have enjoy some new or old activities we enjoy.
January
This month was one of mine: Dallas date- Greenville Avenue and Half Price Books on Northwest Highway. I know, you are all surprised. Why would I pick a bookstore when I know Jared takes hours to look?? I figured I could sit with a cup of coffee and read while Jared perused the bookstore. It was great! We ate at Twisted Root Burger which was amazing!
Thank you Russ & Cindy for watching the kids!!
Our Little Family Christmas
We always have our little family Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve morning. We have a yummy breakfast, open presents, and play before we head to the grandparents' house. Every year I like to make sugar cookies and decorate them as a family. This year we were behind and made them a few weeks after Christmas. I tried a new cookie dough recipe .. big mistake! As you can see, Jared decorated the monster cookie. Even though they looked bad, they tasted good!
Starting the New Year....

Shaw Christmas
I had my gallbladder out a week before Christmas. That is my excuse for so few pictures! My mom came in tow to help us during and after my surgery, then we all drove to Austin for our "Shaw Christmas." The kids had a blast and we left with some great presents! Check out my sister's blog for more pics......
