This is Cal's favorite thing to do these days. He makes this super loud sucking noise too. I tried to get a video on here, but it wouldn't work. Sometimes daddy likes to join in on the fun too :)

4 month check up

Cal had is 4 month check up today.
Weight= 18 lb 7 oz (99%)
Height= 25 1/2 in (90%)
Head= 17 in (70%)
The doc said he is doing great! He is not too worried about him not rolling over since he is so big. The doctor also mentioned we can start a little bit of food. We did some rice cereal again and he ate a little bit. He is growing so fast!

Silly Cal

The other day Cal kept looking at the computer, then snuggling up with me. It was too cute! I hope he is a cuddly kid.

Brown Christmas

Christmas eve we spent with mother-in-law's side of the family. Then on Christmas morning we do the immediate family of Jared's with the reading of Christ's birth, presents, and a fun gingerbread house contest. In the afternoon we headed to my father-in-law's parent's house and had a great Christmas dinner.



Here is Cal with his cousin, Liam, who is still in Aunt Janna's belly but should arrive in about 6 weeks!

Austin Christmas

The weekend before Christmas we drove down to Austin and had an early Christmas with my family. Kenz and Cal had a blast opening presents, playing and helping the moms make a cute gingerbread house. Pops and Grammie and fun playing with the cutest grandkids ever!

Rice Cereal

I different things about rice cereal from everyone, but we went ahead and tried it out. Cal did NOT like it. He still had a month or two till he really needs to start it.

So I went to get Cal from a nap and he was standing! Totally kidding! He loves to jump and stand. He was leaning on the railing and loving it. Don't worry, mommy was right there to catch him :)

I am sooooo happy to report that Cal has been sleeping through the night since Monday. The first couple nights I thought it was a fluke, but he has kept it up all week! This picture is of Cal and Grandpa hanging out.... doing what they both do best!

At work we are making cute ornaments for the kids and I made a sample with Cal's picture. Too cute!

Outside Fun

Turkey Day!

Cal had a great first Thanksgiving! He had fun playing with his cousins and getting lots of love from the whole family :) We stayed at a lake house on Lake McQuenny. We met up with my dad's sister's family: Aunt Beth & Uncle Percy. Then my cousin Mike and his wife Karla and three boys. Mason (10), Matthew (8), and MA (9 months). Also, my cousin Phillip, his wife April and their 3 year old Alden.
And of course my mom and dad, sis, bro-in-law and adorable niece Kenzie were all there. Usually we stay in Bolivar (which is now under water), but the lake was great. We got to go canoe, fishing and had a huge yard to play in. Looking forward to T-Day 2009!

3 months old

Today Cal is 3 months old! Our big big boy :)

Calvin Babbles

Today was another good day with Cal. I picked him up and Cindy (my mom-in-law) said Cal hadn't slept much, so I was worried he would sleep for the time I got to see him. But Cal knew his mommy wanted to play and was very active and talkative. Sorry the video is sideways... I didn't think it would turn out like that. I couldn't get anothr one that was this good. Enjoy :)

Working Mommy

I have been back to work for over a month now. I thought it would get easier but it really hasn't. Recently the hardest part is that Cal has been sleeping most of the time I see him. Today was a good day though. He woke up very happy from a nap and played with me for over an hour. The pictures above are from this afternoon. I couldn't decide which one, so I put in all of them :)

Teething??

So our little man has not been himself lately. The past three nights he has been getting up every two hours and not to eat, just restless. My mother-in-law noticed two white spots on his bottom gum the other day. I researched it and babies can get teeth as early as 3 months, which he will be 3 months next Wednesday. He has had the symptoms too: drolling, fussy, restless, irregular sleep pattern, loose stool, stuffy nose. I bought some Teething Tablets today that are suppose to help with his fussiness. We will find out tonight!

Baptism

This past Sunday we had Calvin baptized. He had a rough Saturday night, so I was worried he would be fussy. Luckily he only fussed a little when our pastor held him and when he was sprinkled with the water. We are glad that Calvin has had the sign and seal of the covenant placed upon him.

We bumped up Cal's bottle feedings to 6 oz. and he is drinking it all up. Hopefully this means he will be sleep all night soon :)

2 month check up

Today I took Cal for his 2 month check up. Here are his stats.....

Weight: 15 lb 3 oz (90%)
Length: 24 in (80%)
Head: 14 in (65%)

Cal still has a flat spot on the right side of his head, but the doctor said that he will grow out of it and we should keep moving his head to the left. He spits up a lot when he nurses, but we think it is just the nipple flow that is too fast. I think I just have to tough out him spitting up all over me. Besides that he is big and healthy!

Pumpkin Time

Our sweet little pumpkin. He didn't mind it at first but then got a little upset. It barely fit when I did the pictures (a week ago), so we will see if it fits on Halloween.
