Babie

Cal's blanket that is falling apart needed to go to the doctor today. Dr. Calvin checked him out and gave him a few shots (which Cal doesn't even know what a shot is because he's never had one). Check out the last picture and you can see that Babie is "happy." Way to go Dr. Calvin!

Valentines Weekend

Grammie & PopPop came in town for Valentines Weekend and we had so much fun! Well, I think Cal had the most fun. Mom and Dad studied most of the weekend while Cal did all kinds of fun things.... decorated valentine cookies, made homemade play-do and played with it, made valentine cards, and went to the science museum. Cal's favorite at the museum was digging up dinosaur bones and shopping at the "store." Saturday night Mom and Dad went out to a yummy restaurant, Bison station that was great! It is an old house in "old town" Keller that was converted into a restaurant. www.bisonstation.com

Brave Mom

One fun "indoor" activity I've been wanting to do this week is to play in shaving cream. I knew it would be risky, especially with the food coloring.... but it was so fun!!














And yes, we are in the bathroom to decrease the chance of it ruining our carpet :)

More Snow... Seriously??

Another 3 + inches of snow in our area..... can't believe it! It snowed through the night and off and on all day. It was the perfect kind of snow to play in! We also ventured out to the store after Cal's nap and it wasn't too bad. Around 6:45 Jared went to out again to pick up a movie and he said the roads had iced over... we will probably be hanging around the house again.

Snowy Day #3

Our 3rd day indoors has been fun! We played play-do, practiced some baseball skills, Jared made a tent to play in, Cal "helped me" study, and we made cookies (again). In three days we have now made four different kinds of cookies!
Day 1: classic chocolate chip cookies
Day 2: chocolate & coconut "forget about them" cookies (they look gross but are delicious!)
Day 3: easy & low fat oatmeal & coconut cookies (these were gross and we threw them out); oatmeal raisin cookies.
For once in my life I am "cookied out!"

Snowy Day #2

I was off from work again today and Jared's school was closed. AND my school district is closed tomorrow! There was about 2 or 3 inches of snow, icy roads, and the temperature isn't rising to melt any of it away. We didn't even go out and play in the snow today because our front yard is a sheet of snowy-ice. It has been so much fun playing with Cal all day long and I am happy to say he has been a trooper! I thought he would be stir-crazy by now but it's really just Jared and I. There are some people out driving around but we have no real reason to get out. We saw two cars get stuck on our street already, not worth the risk. Luckily we were already stocked up on food and milk. I don't know what we would do if we ran out of milk!! All in all we have had a good few days :)

Snowy Day!

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning! Two inches, lots of windy, and 20 degrees. Cal and I made french toast with chocolate chips... yummy! Once Daddy woke up we went outside to play. Cal only lasted 10 minutes or so because his gloves are not made for snow. He came inside crying poor guy. Now we are drinking hot chocolate and watching Toy Story 3... for the 100th time :)
