I finished up my first week of Grad School.... yeah!!!! I had two exams on Friday and I think I did well. For the summer I will continue the 10 hours of class and play with the pumpkin! If you were wondering where all the pictures are..... I dropped our camera at a wedding a few weeks ago and now it doesn't work :( Hopefully the warranty will cover it. Today I got a glimpse of Cal's third tooth to come in. It is the top left tooth. That explains the fussiness and being so off schedule!
This pic is Cal on Memorial Day with Gamma and Cousin Liam.... too cute! I love the swim trunks Gamma!

Back to School.......
I have now completed my first 2 days of Grad School! I am barely surviving but I am. I am in a program that will allow me to continue to work full time in the schools and when I am done (and pass a BIG test) I will be a fully licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (right now I am an SLP-Assistant). My main issue the past two days is exhaustion. The information is a lot but doable. I am in the "kick-off" week right now. From 8 am to 8 pm I am either in class, eating, studying or driving to and from Denton. After this week I will be doing my courses (10 hours worth this summer), by video conference. I will graduate from this program when Cal is 3 years old..... it seems so long from now but I know it will go by fast.
I wanted to let everyone know this, so if I don't blog for a week or two, you will know why. Also, that you all can pray for us right now. Jared and his family has been amazing already with taking care of Cal. Between Jared, his mom and grandma... Cal will not be starved for attention, and I'm hoping he won't notice I'm so busy. OK, back to the books.

9 month check up
Cal was a trooper at his 9 month check up today. He is in great health and growing like a weed....
Weight: 23.12 lbs (85%)
Length: 29 in (80%)
Head C.: 18 1/4 in (75%)
The only rough part of today was Cal getting blood drawn. They had to check for lead (since we live in an older place), and something else.... I forget. He cried like crazy but right after he smiled at the lady who was doing it. He got a cool camo bandage he wanted to show off to everyone.

Wedding in Oklahoma
This past weekend we headed to Oklahoma City for a wedding. It was our old pastor's daughter. We have missed them so much since they moved to Road Island, so it was great to catch up with them. I have known Katherine, the bride, since she was 15, and now she has married her high school sweetheart at 20... amazing how God works sometimes!
Cal did great on the drive up. He slept for 2 1/2 hours, then played with Mommy.
The bride and groom making their entrance.
Jessica, Katherine, Me and Cal. I use to meet with Jess and Katherine when they were in High School for discipleship. I miss them!!!
Cal and Daddy getting their groove on!
A cute pic of my boys.

Wine Night
Friday night we had some friends over for a wine tasting night. Everyone brought a bottle of wine and a snack of some sort. We "brown-bagged" all the wine and labeled them A-E. We had info sheets we filled out to rate them and guess what kind. We had so much fun catching up with everyone. I forgot what wine was the best... all in all it was a great night! Sad to say I only took 3 pictures that night.

Mother's Day with Gamma & Mammie
On Mother's Day we spent the afternoon with Jared's Mom (Gamma) and Jared's Grandma (Mammie). Cal had fun helping Gamma open her presents and making her laugh so hard she cried.
At Mammie's house Cal loved being held and showing off his crawling skills.
This picture is of all the great-grandkids.
This is mine and Aunt Janna's first mother's day... it was very special. Our hubbies spoiled us :)
Cal, "Forget this photo shoot.... let's play Liam!"
Grammie, we missed you!!! We will get to celebrate Mother's & Father's Day in a few weeks in my parents.... it has been toooo long!

Mother's Day Fun!
Jared and Cal have already spoiled me with a wonderful first Mother's Day! First, I came home for lunch on Thursday and discovered Jared had made me a beautiful stepping stone with Cal's feet and hand. He was so thoughtful and creative to do that! If you can't tell, it says "Mom's Day 09"
Then he told me Thursday night that he was going to take me out on a surprise date Friday night. Surprises are a love hate thing for me. I love them, but at the same time it drives me crazy that I don't know! He gave me some clues but I still couldn't figure it out. We went to Coal Vines in Southlake. It is a pizza and wine bar. It had a great food, wine and atmosphere. Finally, Jared decided to go ahead and give me my last gift.... a Willow Tree figure, "Angel of Mine" is the title. It goes perfectly with the one he gave me last year, "Cherish".
Thank you Jared and Cal!!!
